The multiseat computer is a normal computer with a powerfull AMD or Intel processor,equipped with enough ram memory.
One to four dual-head pci-e video cards giving video screen to each seat.Extra Usb slots are needed for the mouses and keyboards.There is also extra cooling for the video cards.
Screen, keyboards and mice can be placed up to 5 meter from the multiseat computer.
The computer is equipped with three harddiscs:one for the operating system, the second for the home directories and the last is not connected but contains a spare operating system.If the first operating system failes(misconfiguration ) , one can disconnect the first disc and connect the third disc to use a fresh operating system. The home directories of the users are untouched because they are on disc two.Optional there can be a backup disc for the homes.
Software
We install the Ubuntu operating system because of the stability and virus resistance.This software has everything on board for home/business/education and public computing.
The administrator can configurate what the user can and cannot do.For example in kiosk mode there is only a internet browser avalable.
The administrator can also see all screens on a seperate computer and see what is happening on each screen and if needed help the users.
